PROJECT CX: CX500 Cafe Racer

This  CX500 Cafe Racer has always been a favourite of mine and also the inspiration for me to start Moto Verso. So I saw it fit to explain who is behind this fantastic bike. I found it while searching the web and just fell in love with it. I then started to check out Moto Mucci’s website and absolutely loved it. I loved how clean cut Moto Mucci’s website was and let the photographs do the talking rather than an all singer and dancing website. Owned and run by David Mucci a professional Industrial Designer based in Chicago, IL who has a passion for anything hand made and vintage motorcycles. Please check out this very popular website its full of the best motorcycle around.

I wanted to find out more and see what else was out there on the web and set about creating Moto Verso which actually means ‘motion towards’ in Italian. The name was set and the task was clear, showcase as many cool custom motorcycle, custom cars, hot rods and automotive photography as I can find. As I’m a graphic designer I wanted to include automotive graphic and creative design on the site too. First thing I did was find what is a cafe racer motorcycle and did some research and also found a new passion thanks to the CX500 Cafe Racer.

To say this is the first custom motorcycle that he’d ever built the CX500 Cafe Racer has to be one of the finest looking machines around. Based on a 1978 Honda CX500, Project CX was born and as you can see what a job he’s done. David said “I learned a ton, and aimed at doing everything on my own. Anything I couldn’t learn within a few weeks practice, I outsourced to those who could.”
