Custom 1983 Honda GL1100 Goldwing loses 300lbs

I think I’ve just found my dream motorcycle, it’s big, looks badass and got bags of character with that whole matt black look. As I’m really tall I always need bigger bikes so this custom GL1100 Goldwing would be perfect. It started life sat outside Kevin Rowlands place and had been for 24 years. The objective was to bring an abandoned pile of junk motorcycle back to life and in the process strip down one of the greatest road-sofas to just what needed to be there. As it’s a made in 1983 it was a complete mess in fact it was junk but how could you ever scrap something like that.

The build was a side project for WagonGear and Kevin Rowland from Eugene, USA. He said “It had been dropped and put away with all the plastic broken. I started of by trimming over 300lbs of stuff from the cool motorcycle underneath.”  VW Carburetors brought the engine back to life and the old suspension was replaced from some crashed GSXR’s and CBR’s. CBR controls, dirt track bars, propane tank sectioned and welded into a reserve tank and a new gas tank made from an old CB750 and a bunch of other head scratching got the whole thing back together again. Kenvin says that the beast is an absolute blast to ride.
